GeoServe is Now Live on Sedna: Port DA Approval, Without Leaving Your Inbox

Port Disbursement Account approval is one of those workflows that looks straightforward on paper and rarely is in practice.

Every voyage generates a chain of emails such as agent quotes, cost verifications, payment instructions, arriving across inboxes, requiring review against system records, and demanding a decision that then needs to be logged somewhere else entirely. The process works, but it carries more steps than it should, and at scale those steps add up.

Today, GeoServe and Sedna are removing a significant part of that friction.

GeoServe is now live as a Certified Partner App on Sedna, the operating system for shipping. Operations teams using Sedna can now access GeoServe’s Port DA approval workflow directly from their shared inbox, without opening a separate system, without searching for the relevant account, and without manually maintaining the audit trail that follows.

How it works

When a GeoServe Job Tag is applied to a DA-related email in Sedna, a structured panel opens in the right pane. The panel pulls live data directly from GeoServe and presents everything an ops team needs to make an informed decision in one place.

From that panel, users can:

  • Review full cost breakdowns, screened amounts, and confirmed PDA/FDA figures side by side
  • Set advance percentages, value dates, and remarks without switching systems
  • Approve or reject Port DAs directly from the shared inbox
  • Capture a complete audit trail automatically, with every decision written back to GeoServe in real time

No additional windows. No cross-referencing between systems. No manual recordkeeping after the fact.

Why this matters

As Capt. Gaurav Arora, Head of Port DA and Payment Solutions at GeoServe, puts it: “Port DA approval has always been a bottleneck: not because the decisions are hard, but because the data is never where you need it. Embedding GeoServe directly into the Sedna inbox means operations teams can review, decide, and move on without the back and forth. That is time back on every voyage.”

The integration reflects something GeoServe has long held as a design principle: that operational decisions should be made where operational communication happens, with the right data available in context. Requiring teams to leave their inbox to complete a workflow that began in their inbox is a cost that compounds quietly across every voyage, every port call, every approval cycle.

Sedna Founder and CEO Bill Dobie echoed this: “GeoServe has built something that genuinely belongs inside the inbox. Together we are making DA approval faster, cleaner, and fully accountable. No one needs to change how they work.”

The beginning of a broader integration

The GeoServe and Sedna integration launches with Port DA approval as its first module. This is the first phase of a broader partnership, with vessel performance, laytime and demurrage, and bunker management workflows planned for future releases. Each will follow the same principle: surfacing GeoServe data and decision-making capability directly within the Sedna environment, where maritime teams are already working.

GeoServe’s integrated Voyage Operations Suite covers commercial voyage operations, bunker management, vessel performance, port disbursement accounting, laytime and claims management, and voyage analytics, built to give teams a connected view of every voyage.

Bringing those capabilities into Sedna is the natural next step in making that connectivity work in practice, not just in architecture.

For teams already using both platforms, the integration is available now.
